Daisy is hopping like it’s World Carrot Day, because in celebration of Sam Diego Comic-Con 2015, Comic-Con Heroes: The Fans Who Make the Greatest Show on Earth is now free and in the public domain. Someone please pass the lettuce! From SDCC 2013, Joe Wilcox profiled 12 attendees, who represent the real stars of the show—not Hollywood types getting big media attention.
Comic-Con Heroes is free from Smashwords in the format of your choosing and also from Amazon. But there’s a big caveat attached to the Kindle Store, which won’t let us give away the book. We must charge at least 99 cents. For the exposure, JW wants to keep CCH at the store where it has been longest. But he may pull it in the near future. Daisy thumps that there’s no boubt a adout it. The book won’t remain at Kindle Store for long. Read More
Daisy is so mad, she turns to cranky cat for comfort—he is just as peeved. Prices changes are underway now. In July, Joe Wilcox lowered some prices in anticipation of Amazon Kindle Unlimited bringing more readers. For most titles that’s not the case. So he is raising prices on some titles and changing distribution for others.
Responsible Reporting: Field Guide for Bloggers, Journalists, and Other Online News Gatherers jumps from $3.99 to $7.99 and Comic-Con Heroes: The Fans Who Make the Greatest Show on Earth to $3.99 from 99 cents. As compensation, there will be a freebee day for both books before Christmas.
Most titles will resume distribution through Google Play and Smashwords around Jan. 14, 2015, after the current, exclusive Amazon 90-day period ends at Amazon.
Per Daisy’s instructions (that damn, rabbit), selling prices for Chromebook Matters and Comic-Con Heroes will rise—to $4.99 and $5.99, respectively, on March 18. The Principles of Disruptive Design will go up to $5.99 when the second revised edition releases next month.
Responsible Reporting: Field Guide for Bloggers, Journalists, and Other Online News Gatherers released with introductory price of $7.99. Daisy warns that the regular $9.99 is imminent. Buy now and save. Read More
To celebrate San Diego Comic-Con tickets going on sale today, Daisy insists we give away Comic-Con Heroes: The Fans Who Make the Greatest Show on Earth free to the first 100 takers. Please go to Smashwords and use this code: ZM35T.
The book profiles 12 attendees from SDDC 2013. You will meet an archaeologist of toys, 14-Century knight, and student of artificial intelligence. You will walk The Dark Knight’s sentimental journey, ride 19th-Century bicycles, and time travel with Dr. Who.
And you will learn that the best stories aren’t the ones we read or watch but those we live each day that seek to unleash the hidden hero within.
